EU-AMRI joins forces to accelerate COVID-19 research
When facing the COVID-19 pandemic, EU-AMRI members joined forces to facilitate researchers’ access to their infrastructures’ resources and services and accelerate the development of diagnostics, vaccines and treatments. This joint initiative also led to the publication of a policy statement and a scientific article, which provided recommendations to policy-makers at national and European level to speed up COVID-19 research and development. In addition, EU-AMRI was offered the opportunity to speak with one voice at policy panels organised by the Croatian Presidency of the European Council, the European Strategy Forum on Research Infrastructures (ESFRI), or the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) on the pandemic and highlighted the role played by European Research Infrastructures in addressing global challenges such as pandemics.
